Seinen (jp 青年, ) - anime and manga aimed at a special target audience - young men aged 18 and older. Seinen is characterized by more complex plots and «adult» themes than works for boys (Shōnen), may contain satire, erotic or bloody scenes. More attention is paid to the development of the plot, the development of character images, less - to battles and action.
